A Message from the President
Welcome to the Delta Iota chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta at the University of Puget Sound! As the current chapter president, I am truly honored to have the opportunity to work with such a passionate and inspiring group of college women. Our members demonstrate what it takes to be a leading woman on campus and in the greater Tacoma community, striving for excellence in all of their endeavors every single day.
With a true passion for scholarship and learning that lasts a lifetime, the women of the Delta Iota chapter pursue their academic interests with dedication and enthusiasm. With members representing a wide variety of majors ranging from biochemistry to theatrical performance, Thetas can be found studying their area of interest in the library and on the stage. In addition to classes, our members take on leadership roles and extracurricular opportunities all over campus. With representatives from honor societies, varsity athletics, residence life, the Center for Intercultural and Civic Engagements and many more, Delta Iota women are extremely active in our Puget Sound community.
Staying deeply committed to service for the greater community, our chapter supports Kappa Alpha Theta’s philanthropy, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) through philanthropy events including Rock the CASA and Carnival for CASA. Members also have the opportunity to meet current CASAs and write letters to children being served by the organization, and in the past two years we have had five members complete training to become active CASA volunteers. In addition to our fundraising efforts, Delta Iota women have a strong passion for social justice and members can be found educating themselves about and supporting a variety of topics.
Finally, what truly makes our chapter so special is the importance we place on our sisterhood. This chapter has introduced me to women whom inspire me and support me in and out of the classroom every day. We are truly building friendships that will last a lifetime, and pushing one another to be the best possible version of ourselves. I consider myself truly lucky to surround myself with our Delta Iota community, and I invite you to explore our website to catch a glimpse of our incredible women and to learn more about the wonderful Theta chapter here at the University of Puget Sound.
Theta love and mine,
