Chapter Service & Philanthropy

Rock the CASA

Rock the CASA is Delta Iota's signature Fall philanthropy event. Proceeds from the event benefit the Pierce County branch of CASA and the Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation. Rock the CASA brings musical groups from the campus and  Tacoma communities together for a battle of the bands.

A penny wars style competition allows the audience to vote for their favorite group by making donations in the name of their favorite group. Rock the CASA is a fun-filled Friday night of music and friends.

Carnival for CASA

In spring 2015, Theta debuted our newest signature philanthropy event: Carnival for CASA. There was a PUPPY PETTING ZOO, delicious BBQ with SAE, carnival food and games.

Our previous spring philanthropic events have included Frisbee Fest, Zumbathon, Capture the Kite, and the Thetathon 5K.

Community Service

The women of Delta Iota pride ourselves on being involved members of the greater Tacoma community. Members of our chapter participate in a variety of service opportunities around the area, sometimes traveling as far as Seattle or Portland to provide the widest influence of good. Some of these events include:

  • Hilltop Urban Garden
  • Tacoma Marathon Support Team Members
  • Point Defiance Clean Up
  • Gig Harbor Maritime Museum
  • Service with Metro Parks of Tacoma
