A Message from the President
Welcome to the Delta Iota chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta at the University of Puget Sound! I am so honored to serve as President of this chapter, and I am so grateful to get to be a part of such a wonderful community of women. Our members are highly involved on campus and in Tacoma, and our chapter brings passion and excellence to everything we do.
The Delta Iota women pursue their academic interests with vigor. Our curiosity for our field continues to push us to learn more and grow. From micro-cell biology to business to politics and government, you can find Thetas in every department committed to their academics. Outside of class, our members are involved in numerous clubs, and many of our members are on the leadership teams for several different clubs.
As a chapter, we support Kappa Alpha Theta’s philanthropy, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), through fundraising events including Rock the CASA, Carnival for CASA, Capture the Kite, and Cupcakes for CASA. We give all of our fundraisings to the Peirce County CASA so that our support stays in the Tacoma community. In addition to fundraising efforts, we are proud to have two chapter members that are currently serving as CASA volunteers and two more that are working on the training to become CASA volunteer. Our members are committed to serving our community by working with non-profits that inspire us. We have members that volunteer by working with kids in juvenile detention centers, training service dogs, tutoring kids in reading, and much more.
Above all, at the core of our chapter is our sisterhood. Our friendship brings us all together and we are there for each other throughout college. Together, we support one another in each of our endeavors. Personally, this chapter has given me so much love and support throughout my college experience. I am so lucky to be a part of such a loving community of women. As you explore our website more, I hope you will get a glimpse at this incredible group and see what a great experience being a member of Kappa Alpha Theta at the University of Puget Sound is.
Theta Love And Mine,
